Today in class I had students look up who their competition would be for their own blogs. They are finding well written blogs and not so well written blogs. I want them to look at what kind of information these blogs have and the blogs’ writing style. I believe once the students see how their blogs will compare with others, they will feel more comfortable with writing their own blog.
Next week I will discuss the inverted pyramid. Journalistic writing will help them write a more powerful and informational web story that will allow readers to skim and scan easier. It’s very rarely a person will read an entire story on the web. Yep, after all the hardwork people put into their writing, readers rarely get to the end.
