I have to admit that I do like Jackie and Justin now. They grew on me. I really enjoy how Jackie picks on Pete, the new weather anchor and embarrasses him.

I do hope that WFAA puts Debbie Denmon back onto one of the leading time slots. She is quite engaging and versatile nonetheless. Personally I have never been as intrigued by an anchor as I have been with Debbie. Why? Because she "relates" the news to us. How? The only way that I can explain it is to say that she talks the news to me as if she's sitting by telling me about her day. She connects with viewers instantaneously. Her gracefulness in stepping aside will no doubt be complemented and come back to her in manifold ways.

Debbie Denmon is one of the best news anchors in Dallas. WFAA made a very bad decision. I will miss her each morning and wish her a fantastic new position away from WFAA. Their loss.

Hmm, Looking past the actual content of the chat rooms and what they represent, I think more important is the fact that a media type created a response from another media type. And in fact forced a change in the media and the way it is presented.

To some extent I agree, BUT I think it is still important to teach kids how to communicate effectively with solid writing and argumentive skills to survive in the real world. What we're teaching our kids by grading with computers is how to write TO the computer rather than to the person that they are addressing their message to. That to me is scary when audience is one of the most important factors in writing. So now the audience is a computer? That to me is not the real world.
