Lance Armstrong invited candidates to talk about what they would do to tackle one of the nation’s biggest epidemics–Cancer.

Most of the candidates have some personal connection to cancer, as does Armstrong, who survived testicular cancer before going on to win the Tour de France seven times.
Edwards’ wife, Elizabeth, has been campaigning for her husband during her own battle with breast cancer. Giuliani is a prostate cancer survivor. John McCain has survived melanoma.
“The odds are the odds,” Armstrong said, citing statistics showing one in two men and one in three women will develop cancer during their lifetime. “It really touches everybody.”
Unfortunately, some candidates declined to participate in the cancer forum. Armstrong’s suggestion for voters is to take a look at who shows up and who does not to make a wise and informative decision in November 2008.
