As you all know by now, my Texas Woman’s University diploma had my degree spelled wrong. According to the Graduate school now, ALL doctoral degrees are wrong. The email below was sent Wednesday, and since I don’t check my TWU email and by chance did today, I found the email that is below. I believe this email might be proof that this person is the one responsible for the misspelling on all the diplomas… I’m just making a wild guess here.

Dear Doctor’s, It has come to my attend all the PhD diploma’s have the word Philosophy misspelled. I have placed a quick reorder on the diploma’s, please return your wrong diploma to the Graduate School. If you have any questions, please contact myself or xxxxx in the Graduate School Office. I do apology for not catching the error and any inconvenient this has caused.

Thank goodness the Associate Dean emailed us to formally apologize and tell us we do not have to send back our diplomas. But, if I were TWU, I would want the evidence of this embarrassing mistake erased from memory. I would also make sure all mass emails sent by the above staff member were proofread by a qualified person.
